National Scheduled Castes Finance & Development Corporation (NSFDC)

  1. The National Scheduled Castes Finance & Development Corporation (NSFDC) was set up in 1989 as a "Company not for profit" under Section 8 of the Companies Act 2013 [i.e. Section 25 (of the earlier) Companies Act, 1956] with the objective of financing income generating activities of SC beneficiaries living below Double the Poverty Line limits (presently Annual Family Income Rs.81,000/- for Rural Areas and Rs.1,03,000/- for Urban Areas). NSFDC assist the target group by way of loan & advances, Skill Training, Entrepreneurship Development Programmes and Providing Marketing Support through State Channelizing Agencies (SCAs), RRBs, Public Sector Bank & Other Institutions.
  2. An amount of Rs.881.80 crore has been made available to NSFDC upto 31st March, 2014, as Equity Share contribution, towards the Authorized Share Capital of Rs.1000.00 crore.
  3. NSFDC provides Loan upto 90% of the cost of project, subject to the condition that Channelizing Agencies contribute their share of assistance as per their schemes and also provide the required subsidy besides tying up financial resources from other source, if any.

  5. *Note: for NASY, the Channelising Agencies would be provided 2% of the loan amount as grant for the purpose of carrying out "handholding activity" for the beneficiaries covered under the scheme, subject to a maximum of Rs. 4000/- per unit.
